Twice Brewed to Bardon Mill - 12 September 2026
This is a first for us. We have sometimes started around Bardon Mill but we have never finished there before. Bardon Mill is just off the A69 road between Haydon Bridge and Haltwhistle and to the north is Hadrian's Wall along which the routes will walk part of the way this time out.
Bardon Mill is known for its pottery but what many people don't know is that the pottery business has been there since 1878 and was establised by Robert Errington and William Reay. The name of the company which is still going today is called Errington Reay & Co Ltd. It used to produce salt glazed sanitary ware and drainage pipes but in the 1970s production started on salt glazed garden pots and as you walk through the site you will see these in various sizes all over the yard.
