Powburn to Glanton - 31 January 2026
Following on from our last two walks, we are now a lot further north, but still in Northumberland, and visiting the small village of Glanton for our walks. The village used to be on the main coach route that came from the direction of Morpeth and then headed north to cross the bridge at Coldstream, finishing in Edinburgh. Unfortunately, for the village, the railways took away the coach travel, and Glanton was left a little bit isolated. It didn't help when they built the new A697 road just to the east of the village, which took away the road traffic. However, the Queens Head pub is still there and still open, and that is where we are finishing, so things are not too bad.
